Man rescued from underneath Red Line train in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. on the 6200 block of Hollywood Boulevard. Authorities said the man was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries to an arm and his back. He was listed in fair condition.

It's unknown how the man ended up between the tracks. His identity has not been released.

"Allegedly, the patient either fell or jumped immediately prior to the train's arrival from the platform area of the station," said LAFD Battalion Chief Joseph Castro.

All eastbound traffic on Hollywood Boulevard was temporarily diverted due to fire trucks and ambulances in the area.
