Pharrell Williams to perform 'Happy' at Oscars

LOS ANGELES

Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said the singer-songwriter-producer will perform his song "Happy," which he wrote and produced for "Despicable Me 2." The song is nominated for best original song. The other nominated songs are U2's "Ordinary Love" from "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel from "Frozen" and Karen O's "The Moon Song" from "Her."

Williams has won seven Grammy Awards, two of which were for producer of the year in 2004 and 2014. He was also named Billboard's Producer of the Decade in 2010. The 40-year-old has collaborated on two of 2013's most popular hits - Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and Daft Punk's "Get Lucky."

The 2014 Oscars will take place on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles and will air live on ABC7. Ellen DeGeneres will host for the second time.
