Fontana police officer loses 2 teeth in fight with suspect

FONTANA, Calif.

Fontana Police responded to a report of domestic violence and attempted kidnapping on the 16400 block of Tullock Avenue at 10 p.m. Monday.

Officers located Fontana resident Luis Enrique Flores, 31, inside a residence on the block, and Flores ran out of the back of the house.

Police said Flores aggressively fought with an officer covering the back yard who was trying to detain him. Flores allegedly smashed the officer's head face-first into a woodshed, causing major injuries to the officer's face, including the loss of two teeth.

The officer eventually arrested Flores with the assistance of other officers, police said. Flores was booked at the West Valley Detention Center.

The injured officer was treated for facial lacerations and missing teeth and was released from the hospital Tuesday morning.
