Authorities say the accident happened in the area of Santa Fe Avenue and 14th Street at 8:51 a.m. The officer was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. Santa Fe Avenue was shut down between Anaheim and 17th streets due to the investigation.
