Worthington, 37, has been charged with misdemeanor assault, among other counts. The photographer was also charged in the Sunday scuffle.
Worthington was released Wednesday on his own recognizance after being ordered to stay away from the photographer, Sheng Li, for six months.
Worthington is accused of punching Li in the face in Greenwich Village Sunday. He said he was defending his girlfriend.
Li was arrested for reckless endangerment, assault and harassment.
Worthington has starred in the films "Avatar" and "Clash of the Titans," among others.
