A parolee was arrested for residential burglary in Pasadena after he was captured on home surveillance video.

Pasadena resident Angel Luis Tapia, 23, was arrested just after midnight on Thursday in a motel room on the 2800 block of East Colorado Boulevard, according to Pasadena Police. Tapia was on parole for burglary.

Tapia is alleged to have entered a residence on the 1300 block of North Catalina Avenue in Pasadena early on the morning of February 19. The suspect stole items including a wallet, cellphone and jewelry while the elderly residents slept.

Images from a home surveillance camera were released to the public, and an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip led investigators to Tapia as a suspect. The camera had been installed in the residence after the house was broken into on February 1.

Tapia was held without bail at the L.A. County Jail.

The investigation was ongoing. Police were seeking the recovery of stolen items.
