2nd driver arrested in Santa Ana hit-and-run

SANTA ANA, Calif.

Authorities say the incident, which was caught on camera , happened Monday at 4:10 p.m. at a stoplight at 17th and Bristol streets. The girl was crossing against the red and tried to run between two vehicles. The teen was sideswiped by a red truck, and a split-second later, she was knocked to the ground by a dark-colored Cadillac. She gets up for a moment before falling to the ground again.

The driver of the truck never stopped to render aid. Police say Adan Camacho was eventually arrested and booked for felony hit-and-run, thanks to a Good Samaritan who followed the truck.

Police say the driver of the Cadillac did get out of her car, but when officers arrived, she never identified herself as being involved and left the scene.

Based on video evidence, law enforcement believed the driver was possibly a Santa Ana College student. On Wednesday, a campus public safety officer observed a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description. After being questioned, Amanda Aie Sananikone, a 21-year-old Anaheim resident, was arrested for felony hit-and-run.

The teen was hospitalized with leg injuries. Police say if both drivers had stuck around, neither would have been cited.
