West Hollywood salon owner charged in alleged murder-for-hire plot

LOS ANGELES

Dawn DaLuise, 56, was arrested Wednesday after the sheriff's department said they received information about a cyberstalking case out of West Hollywood.

During the course of that investigation, authorities also received information regarding an alleged murder-for-hire plot. Between Jan. 22 and Feb. 12, DaLuise contacted former NFL player Christopher Geile to carry out the murder, according to a felony complaint.

DaLuise is the owner of Skin Refinery in West Hollywood. Her website bills her as a skin specialist to the stars. About seven months ago, Gabriel Suarez opened a competing salon called Smooth Cheeks next door to DaLuise's salon. Business has been booming, according to Suarez.

He said DaLuise had been giving him the cold shoulder, but he never suspected she may try to have him murdered. He didn't think he would be a threat.

"Hair dressers work next to each other all the time, so I didn't think it would be a big deal," he said.

DaLuise has been charged with felony conspiracy to commit murder. She is being held at the West Hollywood Station on $1 million bail. An arraignment has been postponed to March 19.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Fraud & Cyber Crimes Bureau at (661) 287-4096.
