The discovery was made around 7 p.m. at the corner of Beverly Boulevard and Howard Avenue.
Police say the incident appears to be a suicide. They say the man, who's in his 60s, was a resident of the Golden Manor Retirement Center, which is adjacent to the parking lot.
Investigators believe he fell from the higher floor at the retirement center.
