Officers responded to a report of sexual battery at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday on Alder Avenue south of Foothill Boulevard, according to the Fontana Police Department.
The 17-year-old victim told police she was walking northbound on Alder when a man came up behind her and pushed her to the ground. She said the man got on top of her and fondled her over her clothing. She began screaming and fought off the suspect, police said, and the suspect ran southbound on Alder.
The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s standing about 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing dark workout clothing with white stripes down the arms.
