Buena Park robbery pursuit ends in 2 arrests

BUENA PARK, Calif.

The hour-long pursuit began just before 11:30 p.m. Friday and continued along the 605, 405, and 110 freeways.

California Highway Patrol officials say the two known parolees were wanted for allegedly robbing two gas stations in Santa Ana. The evading suspects reached speeds of up to 110 mph.

The chase ended near Occidental Boulevard and Temple Street in Los Angeles after CHP officers performed a pit maneuver. The two suspects then jumped out of their pickup truck and ran into a neighborhood, but both were found within minutes.

One of the suspect impaled his hand on a fence while trying to evade officers and was taken to the hospital. The other suspect was arrested at the scene.

A weapon was found in the vehicle.
