The Los Angeles City Council announced Wednesday it is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the hit-and-run driver who killed a Pacific Palisades man. The victim's family is matching the reward.

David Pregerson, 23, was found in bushes on the side of the road in the 600 block of Chautauqua Boulevard on Dec. 27. He was walking home when he was hit by a car, police said.

The driver fled the scene, and Pregerson, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition, died in the following days.

Pregerson was a recent University of California, Los Angeles graduate and a budding filmmaker.
