Authorities say the lanes are closed until further notice after the crashes sent two people to the hospital.
The accidents were reported around 2 a.m. Wednesday in the transition road tunnel. Lanes reopened around 7:30 a.m.
The cause of the accidents has not yet been determined, but police say speed on slick roads is likely a major factor.
Another big rig accident on the eastbound 10 Freeway at Garey Avenue in Pomona closed all lanes except the carpool lane just after 2 a.m. No injuries were reported, but a big rig jackknifed and was leaking fuel.
