Ben & Jerry's celebrates 'Free Cone Day'

LOS ANGELES

The Vermont-based company says the tradition is celebrated annually as a way to thank their loyal customers for their support.

"Is there a better way to say 'thank you' than with free ice cream? We think not!" the company says on their website.

This is the company's 35th "Free Cone Day". Customers can get a single scoop of their favorite ice cream or frozen yogurt at participating Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops.

To find a scoop shop near you, visit the Ben & Jerry's Facebook page.

If you stop by the Union Station location, take some cash with you.

All tips and donations will directly benefit "Beyond the Bell Branch," an after-school program benefiting Los Angeles Unified School District students.

Instagram users were also invited to post images of their free cones by using the hashtag #FreeConeDay. The images would then be shared on the website's gallery.
