The suspect entered a Pizza Hut store located at 10092 Westminster Avenue at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday and pointed a gun at the clerk, demanding money from the register. The clerk gave the suspect an unspecified amount of cash.
The suspect then went behind the counter and told the employee to open the safe. The clerk told the suspect the safe was timer-locked and wouldn't open until the next day. The suspect fled eastbound through the parking lot and southbound on Flower Street.
The suspect was described as a white man in his 20s with a thin build, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a green jacket with the hood pulled up over a dark baseball cap, blue latex gloves and sunglasses. He was carrying a brown shoulder bag.
The gun was described as a black semiautomatic handgun.
