BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- A male suspect was caught on camera stealing more than $10,000 worth of construction equipment from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

On April 7, the suspect, who was dressed in clothing similar to construction workers, walked onto the construction site and adjoining office at the hotel between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. He walked out moments later with multiple items in his hands and placed them in a cart.

He then loaded the items into a white older model Ford Taurus.

The suspect
The suspect's car, a white older model Ford Taurus, is shown in surveillance footage.

The suspect is described as Hispanic in his mid-20s and is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall.

Beverly Hills police said this is the second time in two months that a thief has targeted the construction site.

"You can lock things up and put a fence around it. However, there are people who are willing to cut locks and bypass security measures to get into a location to steal tools and equipment because they know that they can sell it," Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Beverly Hills Police Department Detective Bureau at (310) 285-2150.
