18 birds killed in Buena Park house fire

BUENA PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Eighteen birds were killed Thursday in a house fire in Buena Park.

Orange County Fire Authority responded to the home in the 6900 block of San Julian Circle at about 11:30 a.m.

Residents were able to escape the fire safely, but many of their pets did not. Firefighters rescued two birds and one lizard.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was underway.
