Meet the Whopperito: Ground beef, cheese, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles and queso sauce - all stuffed inside a flour tortilla.
The Whopperito was a success in test markets so it's now being expanded nationwide starting Monday, selling for $2.99.
The hybrid is seen as Burger King's attempt to grab a piece of the fast-growing Tex-Mex category. At the same time, Chipotle is looking to cross over into BK territory, planning a new burger chain called Tasty Made that will launch this fall.
