Four rescue ambulances were ordered to the scene in what authorities are treating as a mass casualty incident. Five people, including the driver, were taken to a local hospital.
The collision was reported at Bloomfield Street and Ball Road shortly after 2 p.m. Witnesses say the car was heading north on Bloomfield and the pedestrians were walking in the crosswalk when the collision happened.
The gray four-door sedan with front-end damage was visible at the scene as authorities investigated.
It appeared to have crashed through the bank's outer hedges and came to a stop in the drive-thru lane just feet from the building.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
