Los Angeles car-to-car shooting: 1 killed, 2 injured

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- At least one person was killed and two others injured during a car-to-car shooting in the Athens Park neighborhood of Los Angeles Saturday night.

An innocent bystander was shot at about 9:40 p.m. at El Segundo Boulevard and Figueroa Street, Los Angeles police said. Both vehicles fled the scene.

One of those cars drove north to 127th and Figueroa streets, where a passenger in one of the vehicles was fatally shot. The driver fled the scene, but was captured and taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound in the bicep.

The other vehicle, described as a black SUV, fled the scene.

LAPD believe the incident was gang-related. An investigation was ongoing.
