Home Depot seeking 2,000 workers around LA

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Home Depot is hiring 2,000 seasonal workers around Los Angeles this spring, part of a push to add 80,000 employees nationwide for the busy season.

The home improvement retailer is looking for part-time and seasonal workers for positions that include sales, cashiers, online order fulfillment and a range of other roles.

The company, which makes a similar hiring push every spring, says that more than half of its seasonal hires moved to permanent positions last year. More than 70 percent of its store managers started out as hourly associates.

Home Depot maintains more than 2,200 stores throughout North America and employs more than 370,000 associates.
