Valley Disaster Preparedness Fair helps train families for emergencies
The 10th annual Valley Disaster Preparedness Fair is taking place to help families with one-on-one help to plan ahead for emergencies.

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (KABC) -- With so many recent natural disasters happening around the world, it is important to prepare yourself.

The 10th annual Valley Disaster Preparedness Fair takes place on Saturday at the Northridge Fashion Center, located at 9301 Tampa Avenue, where families can get one-on-one assistance in planning ahead.

President of the Southern California Preparedness Foundation Bill Hopkins visited ABC7 to give a sneak peek of the event's family emergency preparedness kit, including a survival guide and personal protective equipment.

Four-thousand people registered for the event, but you do not have to be registered to join. There will be free admission and food for the whole family to enjoy.
