Investigation underway after baby boy found dead in Compton

COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a baby boy in Compton.

At 12:38 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives responded to the Royal Inn Motel, in the 4800 block of North Long Beach Boulevard regarding the death of a child.

The boy was taken to a local hospital, where he was officially pronounced dead.

Authorities did not release any further information.

The investigation was ongoing.
