Man, 31, shot to death while walking to apartment in Compton
COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A 31-year-old man was shot to death while walking into an apartment complex in Compton Wednesday night.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies from the Compton Station responded to the 2000 block of North Santa Fe Avenue around 8:44 p.m. They found the man inside the apartment complex suffering from gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said the victim had crossed Santa Fe Avenue and was coming from a liquor store. As he approached the apartment complex, another man walked up behind him and fired multiple rounds.
The investigation was ongoing.
