Family encounters bloody mystery on Carnival cruise

MIAMI -- A Florida man says his family vacation on a cruise ship took a horrifying turn.

The Davis family boarded the Carnival Ecstasy in Miami on Christmas Day.

They said the trip was going well, but on the last night, they say they witnessed what appeared to be blood pouring out of the top of an elevator.

Matt Davis caught the scary ordeal on camera, but we have chosen not to show you the graphic images.

A spokesman with Carnival say an electrician died on the ship.

Davis says another man was inside the elevator and had to run through the blood to get out.

"He ran through the blood that was coming down. I don't know what happened but it was terrifying," he said.

The electrician's cause of death is still under investigation.
