Just under one year ago, a man had to give up his dog to a Missouri animal shelter after falling on hard times. Now, that man and his furry friend have been reunited in a joyful moment caught on camera.

Reece is a 3-year-old Boxer/Greyhound mix who had to be surrendered to the Great Plains SPCA No Kill Shelter in Independence, Mo. Reece's owner had lost his job and his home, and wasn't able to take care of the dog anymore.

But after things started to turn around for the owner, and he looked at the animal shelter's website to see that Reece was still available for adoption. Reece was then reunited with his owner on Monday, and was clearly ecstatic to be in the arms of his best friend again.

The Great Plains SPCA posted the video to their Facebook page, where it received over 5,000 likes and 600 shares.
