Chase of alleged DUI suspect ends in crash in South Los Angeles

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A police chase involving an alleged DUI driver ended when the suspect crashed her car in South Los Angeles, causing another vehicle to overturn on Monday.

According to Los Angeles police, the suspect was fleeing authorities in a white Mercedes-Benz.

She crashed the car near 43rd Street and Vermont Avenue and tried to flee, investigators said. Another car overturned as a result of the crash. Information regarding injuries was not immediately available.

The suspect was taken into custody.

Police said officers were searching for a second suspect who they believe bailed out of the Mercedes-Benz near 48th Street and Arlington Avenue. Authorities said that suspect may have ties to an assault case.
