EL MODENA, ORANGE (KABC) -- A home invasion robbery suspect threatened a woman at knifepoint and slashed a man during a confrontation in the El Modena area of Orange on Wednesday, according to officials.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department said the man broke into a home in the 18000 block of East Vine Avenue in El Modena at about 8:50 a.m.

The suspect, armed with a knife, approached a woman inside the home and demanded money, according to deputies.

The suspect, who had his face hidden, ran from the home and was spotted leaving in a black four-door sedan, deputies said.

The wanted suspect was described by officials as a Hispanic man, possibly in his 30s, about 5-foot-2 inches tall, weighing about 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Deputies said the suspect was last seen wearing a light color hooded-sweatshirt, gray pants and a gray bandana.

Officials stated due to the brazen nature of the home invasion, they believe the suspect poses a significant threat to the community.

Anyone with information regarding the incident was urged to call the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (714) 647-7000.
