EL MONTE, Calif. (KABC) -- A person was killed after getting struck by a Metrolink train in El Monte Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 7 a.m. near Cogswell Road and Tyler Avenue, about a mile east of the El Monte Metrolink station.

The individual was not identified. The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known.

There were more than 400 people on board the San Bernardino Line 309 train, which was delayed, along with several other trains. No passengers were injured.

Metrolink was working on alternatives to get commuters to their destinations.
