Mountain High resort reopens with fresh dose of snow
Great news for skiers and snowboarders: Mountain High ski resort in Wrightwood reopened Friday thanks to a light dusting of snow, an early precursor of the impending El Nino.

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Great news for skiers and snowboarders: Mountain High ski resort in Wrightwood reopened Friday thanks to a light dusting of snow, an early precursor of the impending El Nino.

"We are super excited about El Nino. Normally that means lots of great things here in Southern California and lots of snow, and that's what we're looking for this season," said Mountain High Chief Marketing Officer John McColly.

Cruiser, a beginner to lower intermediate trail, reopened to the public at 8:30 a.m. The chairlift will operate daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., resort officials said.

Early-season day passes are now available for $25. Children 6 and under ski free when accompanied by an adult.

These rates will likely change when the resort opens more terrain later this month.
