WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Prophets of Rage, a new band comprised of famous faces from Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill, is bringing music with a message.

The band took the stage at Whisky a Go Go on Tuesday, with a voice that is unfiltered and unapologetic.

Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and his bandmates joined forces in what they considered to be an insane and volatile election season.

"We're here as an alternative, and I think between us, we're going to have fun but we're also going to try to ignite people and make them think and get involved," said band member B-Real.

The members all want you to feel today's political climate. They all share the same passions.

"We, as a group, are not endorsing any candidate. What we are endorsing is people power. You can't wait for some, you know, great person to wave a magic wand and make the world a better place. You have to stand up for social justice. If you want the world to change, you're the one that has to change it," Morello said.

Fans at the concert said they can't wait to hear more positive messages, and said they plan to spread the word.
