Cast of 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' shares excitement over sequel release
Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne bring some big-screen movie magic to life with "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald."

After the "Harry Potter" movies ended, author J.K. Rowling brought that world back with the prequel, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." Now, there's a sequel to the prequel: "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald."

Actor Eddie Redmayne is back as wizard, writer and Magizoologist Newt Scamander. Katherine Waterson's Tina Goldstein is again by his side.

This time out, Newt prepares to take on the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald - played by Johnny Depp - who has escaped imprisonment and is now causing trouble in Paris.

Professor Albus Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, calls on Newt to help in a very dangerous adventure of good versus evil. The story plays on a level every age group can understand.

"This is something that Jo (Rowling) understood about kids when she wrote the first book, is that they can handle the complexity," said Waterston.

"And their imaginations have often been sort of unfettered," said Redmayne. "And what comes with that is they can actually create these worlds and imagine these worlds and the plots with a greater kind of radar."

"And yet, they also have this very human, very relatable quality that I think makes it personal," said Law.

The prequel takes place about 70 years before Harry Potter's time at Hogwart's Academy. The film's stars are all excited for what you're in for with this second chapter.

"The creatures are all based on real mythical creatures," said Law. "And so Jo Rowling has yet again come up with all these extraordinary, factually based magical creatures. So if you watch and enjoy, go research them. They all have their own back stories."

"These films are so fun to watch more than once because you always notice more details. Even just the visual world is so rich," said Waterston. "So if you miss something, watch it again."

"As a Potter fan, there are a couple - and one quite extraordinary - reveal which I beg if you go and see the film, please don't tell your friends about it," said Redmayne. "My jaw dropped when I read the script and I just can't wait to watch this with an audience."

"Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald" is rated PG-13. The film is in theaters Nov. 16.
