'Celebrity Family Feud' spinoff game show premieres Sunday

Comedian Steve Harvey is bringing the fun of long-running game show "Family Feud" to ABC with a twist. His spinoff show features celebrity families.

He knows a lot of the contestants taking part in the summer series, but he promises not to go easy on his friends.

"Guess what? They're going to make a mistake. There's no way you're going to know all the stuff up on this board. You just can't," Harvey said.

"Family Feud" has been around since 1976. Harvey has his own theory about the show's longevity.

"Everybody can play. Everybody can't play 'Jeopardy.' Everybody can't play 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire,'" Harvey said. "It's really a game about opinions. It's nothing factual, so you can sit at home and be smarter than any contestant on TV."

We'll see who's smarter when celebrity families face off against one another. Round one pits Toni Braxton against Anthony Anderson.

It's competitive, but all for a good cause.

"These are busy people. To take some time out of their schedule, stop shooting a movie or taping a show, give up their off-time to come in and give all the money to their favorite charity, that's pretty cool," Harvey said.

"Celebrity Family Feud" debuts Sunday night at 8 p.m. on ABC7.
