SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Comic-Con fans are committed to their characters and their costumes. About 130,000 fans of all ages head to the annual pop-culture celebration at the San Diego Convention Center for four days of frolicking.

The city of San Diego makes $135 million during the convention, which is part business and all fun.

Comic-Con draws thousands of costumed fans from all genres

There's also a big Hollywood component to Comic-Con. The big attraction on Thursday was the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2" panel where fans got a firsthand look at the film's full trailer. The epic finale isn't due out for months, but the stars showed up for their fans.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence and the rest of the cast and filmmakers of the final installment of "The Hunger Games" franchise presented footage from the upcoming movie and took part in a question-and-answer session.

"Coming to Comic-Con's insane," said Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta. "It's just a whole other world and it's really fun to see the fans out here that are so rabid and so excited."

"I always have fun coming to this event," said co-star Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale. "People are very passionate here. I think this is where we see some of the most passionate fans in the world."

"I'm so excited to see anybody who's so excited about these movies because we really put our heart and soul into them" said Lawrence, who stars in the franchise as Katniss.

Comic-Con continues Friday with a big "Star Wars" event.
