PORT WASHINGTON, Wisc. (KABC) -- Actor Dustin Diamond has been arrested in connection to a stabbing at a Wisconsin bar, police said Friday.

The 37-year-old actor, best known for his role as "Screech" on the TV series "Saved by the Bell," is accused of stabbing another male patron at the Grand Avenue Saloon after an altercation escalated late Thursday night.

According to the Port Washington Police Department, Diamond allegedly fled the scene in a white SUV with his 27-year-old girlfriend, but they were quickly located and arrested.

A knife was recovered in Diamond's vehicle, according to investigators. The victim suffered non-life threatening wounds.

Diamond appeared in court in Ozaukee County Friday afternoon and was charged with disorderly conduct, use of a dangerous weapon, 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, and carrying a concealed weapon. Jail records showed that his bail was set at $1,000.

The actor's girlfriend was charged with disorderly conduct.
