LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Casey Kasem's family says the ailing radio legend has been found in Washington State.

He was located in Kitsap County and arrangements are being made to bring him back to Southern California, according to the family.

According to ABC News, Kitsap County sheriff's officials say they were asked to perform a welfare check on Kasem at an address provided by the California State Adult Protective Services. Investigators say they made contact with Kasem and his wife, and that the two are there on vacation. They say Kasem appears to be in good health and he knows where he is at. The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office says it does not believe this is a police issue.

"We are grateful to the local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home," daughter Kerri Kasem said in a statement Wednesday night.

Kasem's daughters said earlier they believe his wife, Jean Kasem, had moved him to prevent them from seeing him. Kasem's wife and children have been feuding for years.

The 82-year-old suffers from Lewy body dementia and can no longer speak. A judge appointed Kerri Kasem his temporary conservator and ordered a court investigator to help find Kasem after family members expressed concern on his whereabouts.
