LA County fair serves up deep-fried guac
Deep-fried guacamole is this year's newest concoction at the LA County Fair.

POMONA, Calif. (KABC) -- Twinkies, Oreos, even pickles are a few of the deep-fried options at the Los Angeles County Fair, although deep fried guacamole is this year's hit.

This is southern California where there is some health-conscious folks who are looking for healthy stuff to eat before hitting the Twirl a Whirl.

Kids come for rides, teens come for games, but everyone looks forward to the food.

At the Pomona Fairplex, there was a test drive of a host of menu items for the 2015 LA County Fair that starts Friday.

Owner of seven different venues Dominic Palmieri has 24 years in the business and feels he's knocked it out of the park with these goodies:

"This is a giant 2 lb. beef rib on a 17 inch bone, the big chick on a stick, this is a giant two pound chicken breast that's garlic herb marinated, the curly fry cone, the biggie burger, gluten-free burger biggie burger," said Palmieri of Midway Gourmet.

Gluten free options don't have to mean calorie free as you can see.

"Chicken Charlie" creator of the Krispy Kreme burger and other decadent delights, tries to out do himself every year with his deep fried creations.

"Deep fried Kool-aid, deep fried Coke, deep fried Oreos, but this year I've got deep fried guacamole, deep fried Slimfast bar," said Charlie.

And this crazy concoction..

"Who knew you could put peanut butter inside of a pickle dip it in pancake batter and top it off with chocolate," said Charlie.

But not everyone likes that kind of fair experience.

The chef from the Twisted Sage Cafe offers up curried chicken salad Croissants and apple goat cheese salad.

Pepe's Mariscos offers shrimp cocktail, ceviche, and veggie tacos. A hit when the temperature soars.

The fair runs Friday through the 27th and it is said you can eat here every single day and never eat the same thing twice with over 300 menu items.

So come on out and chow down!
