BEAUMONT, Calif. (KABC) -- Two children in Beaumont got a sweet surprise from their father after he returned from his tour with the Marines.
Marine Gunnery Sergeant Demetrius Passmore just returned home after being stationed at Camp Pendleton and serving a seven-month deployment.
His children were at Tournament Hills Elementary School attending a rally led by the school's mascot.
In the middle of the rally, the mascot removed the head of the costume to reveal Passmore was underneath.
Thrilled, his children rushed into his arms for a hug as the crowd cheered.
