FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in a shooting that killed one man and injured another in Fontana on Monday, according to authorities.

Fontana police said two men in their 50s were shot at Veteran's Park at about 7 p.m.

Officials said several juveniles from a gang confronted the men and the 14-year-old boy shot the victims.

Family members of the victims said the men were at the park playing cards. They also stated that the suspects took off with the victim's cellphones.

Authorities said the two men did not have any gang affiliation.

Four boys, ranging in age from 13 to 15, were identified by detectives as being at the scene at the time of the shooting.

The 14-year-old was arrested for homicide and a 15-year-old boy was arrested on a probation violation, according to police.

Officials said a 13-year-old and another 15-year-old were released after being interviewed.
