Garden Grove hit-and-run driver kills man in his 80s

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KABC) -- Garden Grove police are looking for a BMW driver who struck and killed a man in his 80s as he was walking.

The collision happened just before 6 a.m. in the area of Stanford Avenue and Dale Street.

Residents of the area said the man was often seen walking in the neighborhood.

Surveillance footage from a nearby home has footage of the suspect fleeing the scene after hitting the victim, police said. Authorities said the vehicle ran a stop sign.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The public is asked to call Garden Grove police if they have any information about the vehicle or the suspect.
