GARDENA Calif. (KABC) -- A Huntington Park woman was killed and four others were injured after a crash sent two cars into a doughnut shop in Gardena Tuesday night, Los Angeles County fire officials said.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Western and Marine avenues at about 7:20 p.m.

"Two vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, and the force of that initial traffic collision forced the two vehicles up onto the sidewalk and into the Donut King," Gardena police Lt. Vince Osorio.

A female passenger in a white vehicle died at the hospital. Two others in her car were critically injured, but in stable condition.

A person in a red vehicle was also critically injured, but in stable condition.

One juvenile in the doughnut shop suffered minor injuries.

The Los Angeles County Department of Building and Safety was called to examine the doughnut shop.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area. The intersection was expected to be closed for the next few hours, according to the Gardena Police Department.
