Girl, 5, parents critically injured after chase suspects crash into family's car in South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 5-year-old girl and her parents were in critical condition after their car was struck by another vehicle speeding away from police.

Six juveniles were inside the car responsible for that crash. The suspects' car, which was believed to be stolen, struck a vehicle near the intersection of Gage and Central avenues in South Los Angeles shortly after 11 p.m. Monday.

After that initial crash, the suspects kept going and struck a parked car. The little girl and her parents were inside that parked car.

Of the six juvenile suspects, one female suffered a broken leg and was transported to a hospital in stable condition. All were detained while detectives determined their charges.

Authorities said a firearm was inside the suspects' vehicle.
