Man attacks woman, tries to sexually assault her in Highland Park

HIGHLAND PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are looking for a man who attacked a woman in Highland Park and tried to sexually assault her.

The incident happened in the 5900 block of York Boulevard shortly before 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say a man knocked the woman to the ground and started punching her in the face.

He tried to sexually assault the woman, but bystanders heard her screams and chased the man away. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
