Inmate caught after escaping Ventura Conservation Camp in Camarillo

CAMARILLO, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities said an inmate convicted of burglary who escaped from the Ventura Conservation Camp in Camarillo was caught Thursday evening.

Bobby Allen Gleason, 37, escaped from the camp in the 2800 block of Wright Road around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said.

Officials captured Gleason in the city of Vista in northwestern San Diego County at about 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Gleason was sent to the Camarillo camp from San Diego County to serve nine years for burglary as a second-time offense. He was scheduled to be released on Aug. 6, 2019.
