Woman found dead in Santa Ana apartment in suspected domestic violence incident

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- An investigation was underway Saturday after a woman was found dead in a Santa Ana apartment after neighbors reported a domestic violence incident.

Authorities received reports of a domestic argument between a man and a woman around 11:33 a.m. in the 300 block of West 4th Street. When officers arrived, they did not get a response at the door.

Neighbors said the tenants appeared to have been in a violent fight and a man had fled the building before police arrived.

Officers then entered the apartment and found a woman in her 30s bleeding and suffering from trauma. Despite attempts to revive the woman, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the woman has not been identified and they are attempting to contact her family.

The investigation was ongoing.
