2 arrests made in 2006 cold case murder of Iraq War veteran

SOUTH GATE, Calif. (KABC) -- Two suspects have been arrested in connection to the 2006 cold case murder of an Iraq War veteran from Rowland Heights, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Anthony Silvas, 36, and Juan Vallejo, 40, have been charged with murder and torture in the death of 24-year-old U.S. Army Veteran Jesse Aguilar.

Aguilar's body was found inside his burning car in the Los Angeles Riverbed in South Gate.

Silvas had long been considered a person of interest in the case, and Vallejo was identified as a suspect in recent months. No further details were immediately released.
