Jogger struck, killed in Fountain Valley hit-and-run

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A jogger was struck and killed by a vehicle in what Fountain Valley police are investigating as a hit-and-run.

Officers responded to the vehicle-vs-pedestrian incident around 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to Lt. Robert Sweaza. "When officers arrived, they determined that it was a hit-and-run," Sweaza said.

Investigators believe the male victim was hit as he was running on the curb line in the roadway outside Mile Square Park on Brookhurst Street just south of Heil Street. The victim was not immediately identified.

Police are seeking a suspect or suspects who may be in an older model tan or grey SUV. No other details were available.
