LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- High temperatures in Southern California caused an increased number of medical responses during the Los Angeles Rams game on Sunday due to heat-related illnesses, according to fire officials.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials responded to 26 medical incidents at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum around 3 p.m., and five of those patients were transported to local hospitals, fire officials said.

American Medical Response units had to transport at least two of 60 patients that also fell ill at the game, according to the LAFD.

Fire officials confirmed many of the calls were heat-related illnesses, but no patients were in critical condition.

The LAFD said it added six rescue ambulances to assist with the call volume.

No further information was provided.
