LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect was taken into custody Friday afternoon at Los Angeles International Airport who falsely claimed to have an explosive, police said.

The lower level of Terminal 2 at LAX had been evacuated and traffic was being diverted, but it was reopened shortly after 3 p.m.

A bomb squad responded to the scene after the initial call came in around 1:30 p.m.
