Lincoln Heights man disappears after show at Echoplex

ECHO PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A searching was underway Thursday for a 31-year-old man who disappeared after a night out at a popular music venue in Echo Park.

Jose David Jimenez was seen leaving the Echoplex at about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 6. He parked his car at his friend's house, then left in another car to go to the show. His car was still parked at the friend's home.

Jimenez lives with his parents in Lincoln Heights. His family says he's very good about keeping in touch, especially with his dad, but they haven't heard from him since he went missing.

"It's very out of character for him. He's a very family oriented guy, very peaceful, a very natural guy. He doesn't do drugs (or have) any history of mental health illness," cousin Cindy Frutos-Jimenez said.

He is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt and shorts.
